Do you wish people in healthcare understood the reality of living with hearing-related problems?
Perhaps you've found a great support network, or your challenges have made you more determined than ever to thrive at work or in education? Or maybe you have had to give up on your dream job, or experienced a relationship break-up because of them.
Well, this is your chance to help medical professionals understand the highs and lows of hearing loss and hearing-related problems.
Drs Bonnie Millar and Derek Hoare are inviting people with hearing problems, their partners or family members to write poems and prose about their experiences of living with hearing-related conditions for a special edition of the BMJ Journal, ‘Medical Humanities’.
Medical professionals working in the hearing-loss field are also being encouraged to contribute their thoughts as creative writing. The publishers "hope to foster exchange and understanding between different groups.”
